3D SCANNING TECHNICIAN
3DScanCo’s expanding customer base has created a need for an entrepreneurial 3D scanning technician to operate high-tech 3D scanning equipment, both in our service center and on-site at client locations. The candidate will have the chance to mold the future of our company while getting the opportunity to work with and develop cutting-edge technology in the fields of 3D scanning and metrology.
Located in Norcross, GA, 3DScanCo is an engineering firm specializing in 3D scanning and metrology solutions. Our engineers and management have been providing world-class 3D scanning, CAD modeling and quality inspection services to a variety of industries worldwide for over 10 years. While our service goal is to provide top-notch scan data and surface models, our foundational value is to help customers realize significant benefits by using 3D scanning, be it through service offerings or custom product development of 3D scanners and software.
Though a majority of the candidate’s time will be spent performing sevice work, they’ll also have the chance to work on product development projects. Technologies we work with include but are not limited to computer vision, stereo vision, interferometry, laser projected stereo vision, laser triangulation, photogrammetry, 2D and 3D image processing, CAD/CAM, digital model rendering and scan data processing.
A candidate must be:
- Entrepreneurial

- Autonomous
- Able to communicate ideas with customers and coworkers
- Enthusiastic
And have:
- CAD experience (preferably with both surface and parametric modeling)
- Manufacturing knowledge
- Technical aptitude
Our projects are as varied as any real world object, including, but obviously not limited to, tiny figurines, entire planes, cast parts, sculptures, cellphones, turbine blades, guns, racecars, boats, national treasures and more. We never know what new and exciting projects are around the corner, which keeps us on our toes and forces us to be ready for the unexpected.
The candidate will be expected to perform:
- In-house 3D scanning and measurement using the appropriate tool for the job
- On-site 3D scanning at client locations (10-20% travel)
- Post processing of 3D scanning and measurement data to prepare scan data for reverse engineering
- Reverse engineering of 3D scan data into CAD models
- CAD modeling and design
