SOFTWARE ENGINEER
3DScanCo’s expanding 3D scanner product development client base has created a need for an entrepreneurial software engineer to join our team in developing software for computer vision, laser and other image processing-based 3D scanners. The candidate will have the chance to mold the future of our company while getting the opportunity to work with and develop cutting-edge technology in the fields of 3D scanning and metrology.
Located in Norcross, GA, 3DScanCo is an engineering firm specializing in 3D scanning and metrology solutions. Our engineers and management have been providing world-class 3D scanning, CAD modeling and quality inspection services to a variety of industries worldwide for over 10 years. While our service goal is to provide top-notch scan data and surface models, our foundational value is to help customers realize significant benefits by using 3D scanning, be it through service offerings or custom product development of 3D scanners and software.
We are not restricted to any specific technology but are pursuing work centered around our core competency of 3D measurement. Technologies include but are not limited to: computer vision, stereo vision, interferometry, laser projected stereo vision, laser triangulation, photogrammetry, 2D and 3D image processing, CAD/CAM, digital model rendering and scan data processing.
A candidate must be:
- Entrepreneurial

- Autonomous
- Able to communicate ideas with customers and coworkers
- Enthusiastic
And have:
- Experience in software engineering (creating production level software), including:
- Documentation
- Version Control
- Use of proper modular coding standards and techniques
- Ability to research, customize and implement existing algorithms
- Experience and ability to create software involving combinations of the technologies (and related) described above
- Ability to scope time and resources for projects and communicate internally and to customers
- Basic UI design skills
We have many projects in the works that differ greatly in application and industry. Some involve human body and other animal scanning and measuring, while some are more mechanical and engineering-based in nature. We routinely submit SBIR and other government proposals and currently have several awaiting evaluation.
Potential applications and projects include:
- The creation of custom foot/ankle/knee/etc. orthotics and prosthetics
- Intra- aural and oral scanners
- Custom-fit protective equipment
- 2D image processing and outlining
- Automatic scanning and inspection for a variety of different industries/applications
- Improvement of scan/point cloud data to CAD data processes and software
- Cell-phone applications
