Please use the following images to determine the complexity of your part. Keep in mind that your part's complexity refers only to the features and surfaces that you want scanned/modeled. If some of your part's features are not required in a final model, you may lower its complexity accordingly.

Very Low complexity objects are parts with a very simple or prismatic shape containing a very few amount of features. Many stamped objects fit into this category. The objects are modeled a number of different ways, depending on the amount of freeform shape that is involved.

Low complexity objects are parts with a simple shape containing a small number of features. Many plastic injection molded parts fit into the Low complexity category. These objects are often modeled into parametric models or into a hybrid model that combines features with freeform surfaces.

Medium complexity objects have an average amount of moderately sized features. Most injection molded parts will fit into the Medium complexity category. Most "Medium" objects are modeled into parametric or hybrid models.

High complexity objects are parts with many detailed and/or small features. Many machined parts and very detailed molded parts fit into this category. Most High complexity parts are turned into parametric or dumb IGES models.

Very High complexity objects are parts with either very many features or many small features (.5-2mm). Sculptures and other hand-crafted parts with many freeform features can also fit into this category. Very High complexity objects are modeled in a number of different ways, usually parametric or IGES models for engineering purposes, and shrinkwrap models for art.

Extremely High complexity objects have very small features (under .5 mm) or have a very large amount of features. This category would encompass many detailed and/or small handcrafted parts, but can also include manufactured parts if there are a large amount of small features. Extremely High complexity objects are modeled in many different ways.
