The FARO® 7-axis Platinum, Titanium, Quantum, and Fusion Articulated Arm CMMs are the world’s most popular measuring systems for simple and complex shapes. The portable arms are ultra-affordable and easy-to-use, and, when combined with the Laser Design SLP laser probes, are an ideal match for laser scanning on all types of parts. FA-Series laser scanner are available as a completely integrated system or as a retrofit kit for an existing FaroArm.
One of the longest line-lasers available, the 8” (200mm) SLP-2000 laser scanning probe is designed for integration with FaroArms for the 7-axis configuration. The dual receptor design of the probe reduces the scanning motions to completely scan any kind of part or object and the laser’s high speed makes scanning extremely fast.

The proprietary Survey Scan Control software combined with scan data processing software from our solutions partners can successfully handle the most demanding inspection and reverse engineering applications. The ability to scan directly into Geomagic, Rapidform, and PolyWorks is a tremendous advantage, especially when time to market is crucial.
SLP laser probes come in three laser line lengths from 1.5” (33mm) to 10” (250mm), which allow for scanning small highly detailed parts as well as very large parts for the automotive or aerospace industries. The Laser Design SLP-2000 probe is the only 8” (200mm) laser scanning probe designed for integration with FaroArms for the 7-axis configuration. The Dual Receptor design of the probe reduces the scanning motions to completely scan any kind of part or object and the lasers high speed makes scanning extremely fast.
Laboratory tests show overall system accuracy on a FaroArm to be an excellent +/-0.00225” when performing an ANSI B89 ball bar test.
